7 ideas for your Facebook Business Page

While B2C products and services can be promoted well on Facebook, B2B companies often struggle to know what to do with their Business Page once they’ve set it up. It can take some “thinking outside the box” but we believe every business can benefit from the huge traffic on Facebook. Here are 7 ideas for your Facebook Business Page – they may not all work for every business type, but there will be at least a couple that you can start implementing straight away.

1. Blog posts
The one thing that every business should be doing is cross-posting their blog posts to their Facebook Business Page as they expose you and your business to a whole new audience. There are various ways you can automate the system – for example, there are WordPress plugins that do the job for you, and Twitterfeed.com is a great tool that automatically scans your blog and posts new material to a number of social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.

2. Polls
It’s really easy to set up a poll on Facebook and you can use it for all kinds of things – to get opinion on your products, to find out how people feel about stories in the news, to learn more about your customers and so on. If you set up a poll make it “sticky” so it stays at the top of your page for a few days – that way more people will see it and have a chance to respond. To add a poll click “Events, Milestone +” and choose “Questions”. Once it’s set up click the pencil icon and “Pin to Top”.

3. Events
The events tool can be used for more than just physical events – consider adding launch dates for new products, special “Facebook only” time-limited offers, webinars, Google Hangouts …. get imaginative!

4. Videos
If a picture speaks a thousand words a video must tell a million! Adding videos to your Facebook Business Page really brightens it up and they don’t have to be your own videos either – anything you think your fans will find informative, educational or entertaining is worth adding.

5. Ask questions
Don’t just use your updates to talk about what you’re doing – ask questions, get a discussion going and get involved!

6. Links
As well as linking to your own website and blog include links to other sites you feel will benefit your fans. You’ll be offering useful tools and information and also demonstrating that it’s not all about you!

7. Competitions
Facebook is being used more and more for competitions. Think about something you could give away and then offer a prize when people like your page or share the competition status. Depending on how attractive the giveaway is this can be a really effective way to grow your fans quickly.
